The Board currently has five active committees. The board created each committee and each of the committees will actively develop or recommend policies and planning for the Board to consider. The five committees are: Policy and Advocacy Committee, Marketing Communication Committee, Events Committee, Education and Training, and Finance Committee.

The policy and advocacy committee has three goals. The three goals are to be an effective voice for the membership, to encourage a diverse, sustainable and competitive local economy, and to provide advocacy at a local and provincial level for our members.

The marketing and communications goal is to implement the web strategy developed in 2009 and launch the new KHCCC website at the Business Excellence Awards.

The events committee’s goal is to create events that promote the chamber by uniting the business community.

The education and training committee’s goals are to survey the membership as to what their training needs are. Winter 2009, create a series of programs to meet that need, bring in 3 special guest lectures annually, and market through the chamber and local community organizations.

The finance committee goals are to explore sustainable, long-term financial solutions for the Chamber also in line with the Chamber’s vision to keep the finances of the Chamber healthy, and to work with the Events committee to expand fundraising options.

The Membership Committee’s goals are to have 55% of the businesses in Kicking Horse Country become members of the Chamber of Commerce in 2010. The committee would also like to have a better understanding of what our member’s value in being a member.
