Jordan Petrovics - For the past 4 years, Jordan has resided in Golden, BC and worked for Kicking Horse Mountain Resort as the Manager of Corporate Alliances Media Relations and Events. Jordan recently accepted a new position as Manager of Recreation Services with the Town of Golden. Jordan has worked in various marketing rolls in the ski industry for the past 10 years. Joining the Kicking Horse Country Chamber of Commerce in the spring of 2010, Jordan is the present chair of the Chamber's events committee and an active contributor to Chamber marketing committee. Other community involvement includes a director at large position with the Golden Cycling Club and previous core member of planning the 2010 Olympic Torch Relay, Golden Celebrations. One of Jordan's top priorities on the Chamber is to continuously reach out to the community to help make the events and overall mountain lifestyle in Golden one of the most desired communities in Canada. As a passionate "mountain guy" Jordan does his best to get out and play in the hometown mountains as often as possible.

Shawna was born and raised in Golden. She spent 10 years living in the Okanagan and Vancouver Island, then settled back in Golden to raise her family. After 16 years in the financial industry Shawna decided to become her own boss and purchased Kicking Horse Embroidery. Being a part of Goldens business community has been an awarding experience that has allowed her to find the balance between work & lifestyle.

Born and raised in small-town BC, Debbie was thrilled to move to Golden 6 years ago after spending a decade working in large advertising firms in Victoria, Vancouver and Calgary.  Seeing opportunity all around her, she chose to open Patsi Cola Candy Store in 2005 and join the ranks of the small business owner; in 2009 Debbie sold her business to pursue other business interests.  Always eager to contribute and participate, Debbie was pleased to become a member of the Kicking Horse Chamber of Commerce.  She brings to the table her education and experience in the marketing/communications field along with a passion for the town of Golden and the businesses that serve and employ our families.

My name is Lynne Romano and I have enjoyed Golden as my home and base camp for more than 25 years.

In 2001 I completed my MBA through Royal Roads university on Vancouver Island.... looking back that was the easy part... as a business coach and consultant the lessons I have learned since that time have been the most important.

As a consultant and as an employee in both not-for-profit and private sector .... I have learned that entrepreneurs are a special bunch of people who given the opportunity and resources will succeed ... because being in business takes hard work and tenacity.

I enjoy the opportunity to contribute to the Chamber and its members sharing many lessons I have learned over the past 10 years. The learning over the past 10 years came from co-writing more than 150 business plans and assisting in the growth of a range of businesses including Forestry, coffee shops, manufacturing, tourism, businesses and social service agencies... I like to build bridges connecting people to people so that they can learn and be inspired.

In 1987 our family was transferred to Golden  from Calgary with the opening of the CP Rail coal shop. For the first several years I was a stay at home mom raising our 4 children, Colin, Scott, Kayla and Makenna. As well, I ran a family day home called Stepping Stones Family Daycare. During this time I volunteered on several boards, as I strongly believe in giving back to the community I live in and if you are not a part of the solution, you are then part of the problem. For the last 8 years I have had the opportunity  to help local businesses grow with by position as Marketing  Executive with Astral Radio , EZ Rock 1400 am , soon to be EZ Rock  106.3 fm.  I  enjoy being able to help them market their business through  radio advertising.  My  decision regarding  taking a position on the board of Kicking Horse Chamber of Commerce came after the closing of one of our business in town. I kept thinking what could we have done as a community to help not only this business but all businesses . I believe that the Chamber has so much to offer as we all work together to promote our wonderful community that we all call home.

Ruth moved to Golden in 1984 for all the same reasons people are moving to Golden today. She loved the outdoors! xcountry skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, fishing, camping. Ruth believes there isn’t a better place to live then Golden BC. She also saw the many business opportunities within the community for a lifelong entrepreneur at heart. 
Ruth has been self employed for 30 years in various businesses including; retail, industrial and tourism. Her position as Manager of the Kicking Horse Country Chamber of Commerce is a perfect match with her various experiences as a business owner. Ruth has been employed with the chamber for 5 years now and volunteered on the Board of Directors for the 4 years previous. She loves her job; assisting the many businesses in Golden to be successful in their endeavors, organizing special networking events and telling visitors what a great community Golden is.
