RE: Light up the Rotary Trails Project

Dear Michelle,

The Kicking Horse Country Chamber of Commerce is writing to express our support for the Rotary Club of Golden’s “Light up the Rotary Trails” project.

More and more communities are discovering that quality of place is an important factor in where people choose to work, live and invest. Furthermore, access to interesting and scenic trails is a key component in the quality of place equation. Trails contribute to personal interaction, neighbourhood socialization, and community unity.

Businesses want to locate where people want to live. People want to live in a municipality with a good mix of services that improve quality of life. Having an accessible and safe walking trail at night not only makes a municipality unique, lending to its competitive advantage, but it also enhances business attraction.

From a tourism perspective, walkers from other areas, will travel long distances to where they may experience new walks and will promote their experience to others. This raises the profile of the community and increases its attractiveness as a destination.

To conclude, we are happy to support the project as partners in championing and advocating for this important community enhancement initiative.
