Message from the President - 2023 Year End
Posted on 12/28/2023

Dear Chamber Members,

As we approach the end of another remarkable year, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the accomplishments and milestones we have achieved together. It has been an honor and privilege to serve as your Chamber President, and I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished over the past year.

First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to each and every one of you for your unwavering support and dedication to our chamber. Your commitment to our mission and your active involvement in our initiatives have been instrumental in driving our success. Throughout the year, we have focused on fostering a thriving business environment, promoting economic growth, and advocating for the needs of our members. Here are some of the highlights from the past year:

1. Membership Growth: Our chamber has experienced growth in membership, welcoming numerous new businesses, and professionals to our community. This expansion has allowed us to strengthen our network, increase collaboration, and provide even more resources and opportunities for our members.

2. Networking and Events: We have organized a series of engaging networking events, BBBs hosted by local businesses, and of course the Business and Community Excellence Awards (BCEA). These events provide valuable opportunities for our members to connect, learn, and grow, facilitate meaningful connections, foster partnerships, and empower our members with knowledge and insights to thrive in their respective industries.

3. Advocacy and Representation: Our chamber has been a strong advocate for our members, representing their interests at local, regional, and provincial levels. We have actively engaged with policymakers, advocating for policies that support business growth, economic development, and a favorable business climate.

4. Community Engagement: We have continued to strengthen our ties with the local community through various initiatives. Our chamber has actively participated in community events, supported local charities, and collaborated with other organizations to make a positive impact on the lives of our fellow community members.

5. Change within the Chamber: This year, we have welcomed Mel, our Executive Director, Jerry, our Forestry Recovery Advisor and a new bookkeeper to look after our finances.

These accomplishments would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of our board members, committees, and chamber staff. Their tireless efforts and commitment to our chamber's mission have been invaluable in driving our success.

Looking ahead, I am filled with optimism and excitement for what the future holds for our chamber. Together, we will continue to build upon our achievements, explore new opportunities, and support the growth and prosperity of our members.

As we approach the new year, I encourage you to stay engaged, possibly by joining our board, take advantage of the resources and opportunities available to you, and actively participate in our chamber's initiatives. Your involvement is crucial in shaping the future of our business community.

Thank you once again for your support and for being an integral part of our chamber. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to serve as your Chamber President, and I look forward to another successful year ahead.

Wishing you and your loved ones a joyous holiday season and a prosperous New Year!

Warm regards,

Crystal Janzen

Chamber President
